What made you decide to lose weight? Was there a moment or experience that "lit the fire" for you?
I had been having many personal issues in my life and hit my all time high weight, I did not have any energy, was self conscious and depressed with how I looked. I decided it was time to make a change for the better.
Have you tried any other weight loss plans (low fat, low calorie, or other) in the past? How did they work out?
Yes, I have tried many low calorie diets which would work initially but then I would plateau and not be able to lose much more than the first 10 pounds or so.
Tell us about your weight loss experience. How did you change your diet and lifestyle? How did this affect your life (health, well-being, attitude, energy)?
I have changed to a low carb lifestyle and feel great. I have lost 20 pounds in 2.5 months as well as 4 inches in my waist and 4 inches in my hips. I have more energy, can exercise regularly and feel great.
How did Carb Manager help you stay on track? Which features did you find the most useful?
I like the Carb Manager app and use it daily. I like that it can search my favorite restaurants, popular foods, snacks, etc at any time so that I can stay within my daily goal of net carbs.
What was the most difficult part of losing weight? What techniques did you use to overcome these challenges? What kept you motivated?
It is hard for me to lose weight when I want comfort food which always includes bread or pasta that are high in carbs. I have been cooking more in making new recipes that are low carb friendly but still have many of my favorite foods to make me not feel deprived. Once I saw how easy the app was to use and that the low carb lifestyle is working for me, I have stayed focused on my end goal of losing weight and being active and healthy.
What do you see as the greatest benefits of going low carb?
I had been having stomach cramping and diarrhea after eating pasta and breads, so cutting those foods out daily and eating low carb has helped me feel better physically.
What's the best thing about being at your new weight?
That my clothes are fitting better and I recently got into a pair of my favorite pair of jeans I had not been able to wear in over a year.
What are your health & fitness goals going forward?
To continue my low carb lifestyle, to increase my exercise routines and become more healthy and stay healthy.

Have low carb foods on hand at all times at home and when you are traveling. Figure the net carbs before making a recipe and plan out your meals and snacks for each day using the Carb Manager app so that you know how many carbs you have consumed and can have for the remaining of the day. Also, eat your goal carbs each day, eating under your goal can lead to not losing weight.
