"With the Carb Manager app it made it so very easy to enter my food and help me stay on track with how many carbs, proteins & fats I was consuming daily."
What made you decide to lose weight? Was there a moment or experience that "lit the fire" for you?
I was tired of feeling bad and having no energy. I also hated to look in mirror. Also my daughter will be graduating college in May of 2017 and I want to feel good about myself and be in some pictures!! I have always hated having my picture taken and hope to not have to shy away to much longer.
Have you tried any other weight loss plans (low fat, low calorie, or other) in the past? How did they work out?
In the past I have tried several plans, The Rice diet, Weight Watchers, Metabolife, Slim Fast, etc with some success but was not happy and could not continue eating that way forever. With LCHF I consider it a way of eating and NOT a diet. This way of eating I can continue it even when I meet my goal and be happy, healthy & free of intestinal problems that carbs and preservatives caused me.
Tell us about your weight loss experience. How did you change your diet and lifestyle? How did this affect your life (health, well-being, attitude, energy)?
This way of eating has been very easy for me. The first week I felt sluggish and tired but I suppose it was my body adjusting and clearing out all the bad stuff.
How did Carb Manager help you stay on track? Which features did you find the most useful?
With the Carb Manager app it made it so very easy to enter my food and help me stay on track with how many carbs, proteins & fats I was consuming daily. ❤ The app!!!
What was the most difficult part of losing weight? What techniques did you use to overcome these challenges? What kept you motivated?
As I said before this way of eating has not been difficult. My sister, who lives in another state, is made this life change as well and so that keeps us both on track and motivated.
What do you see as the greatest benefits of going low carb?
Feel healthier, more energy, not bloat feeling and seeing results.
What's the best thing about being at your new weight?
I do not have to shop on the plus women section!
What are your health & fitness goals going forward?
To obtain my goal weight and stay there and also to do a 10k. I have been walking 9 miles a week and completed my first 5k!!
We'd love it if you could provide a few tips for others just beginning their low carb lifestyle.
Stay committed and don't look at it as a diet, look at it as a way of eating. Also, you may not see change in scales every week but you will see it in your measurement! Weight only 1x a week instead of daily so you don't get discouraged.
